I never do any tricks for April Fool's Day, I figure life is full of enough jokes, why participate in a day dedicated to do more jokes? However, this year I thought of a good trick to play on the kids. I decided to toilet paper their rooms. By afternoon, I had forgotten about my sneaky plan and laid down to take a nap. When I woke up, the kids were already home from school and I figured I had missed my big chance. Luckily, they were both asleep on the couches downstairs. So I used a roll on each of their rooms. I had done some toilet papering back in the day, and found that some skills you just never lose. I was happy with the results and was done in no time. The kids got up, Aaron was the first to his room. He opened his door and turned around and gave me a sarcastic, "thanks." I put my finger to my lips for him to keep my secret because Megan was on her way up the stairs. She opened her door and was rather put out. She said, "I'm not cleaning this up!!" I said, "That's fine, just live with it then." That night after I had gotten in bed, Aaron brought all the toilet paper from his room, and laid it on top of me. After a minute I said, "I can't breathe." So he opened up a little space around my nose and mouth. I was too tired to move, a few minutes later, Todd came and took it all off of me and put it in the garbage.
The next day I was in my room and when the kids came in, I asked Megan to turn on the ceiling fan. As soon as it started to turn, little bits of toilet paper came flying off the top of the fan landing everywhere. Aaron ran in at that same moment with a shoe box filled with little pieces of toilet paper. He ran around the room flinging toilet paper pieces all over as he laughed hysterically. Now listen, I don't mind a good prank, but April Fool's Day was yesterday. So it wasn't funny. They thought I was just being a poor sport when I told them they were cleaning it up...it's not that at all, they were just one day too late. In the end, I guess the joke was on Todd, because he ended up cleaning it up.
