Our "Hero" from Oceanside

The lifeguard photo is included here because he was like a member of the family after he saved Megan's life in Oceanside. He had to wade out in water up to his knees and throw her a life preserver and tow her back to shore. Risky stuff. We were very grateful and Todd snapped the photo from afar...because Megan refused to pose for a kodak moment with her "life saver"

Oceanside Trip in June

First Day Of School

Here are the kids the first day of school. Ariel and Megan didn't have to worry about what they would wear the first day. The school decided for them...

Ang's treehouse adventure

Just in case anyone was curious. I did climb up to the treehouse on Saturday. I was feeling brave til halfway up. It was pretty scary and I didn't think I could do it. But I did!! It was pretty amazing up there. Watching Todd build it from the ground I was like...yeah he's building a treehouse. When I got into the treehouse my perspective drastically changed. I cannot BELIEVE he built that treehouse way up there in the sky. He did a great job. I will probably go up there again soon.

Ariel's Senior Picture

She is graduating this year....that makes me feel good...good and old.

Zoey - my puppy friend

Today I had to brush Zoey's teeth for the first time. I put some toothpaste on the brush...it was beef flavored! (I just threw up in my mouth) Well the beef flavor part didn't bother her at all she just licked it like crazy. I am sure her tongue is very clean but not quite sure about the teeth part. I tried to brush the teeth in between the licking. This has been a busy week for Zoey. She chewed up the carpet outside my bedroom door. I guess there was a loose string and she got a hold of that and went a little crazy. She also got her teeth around a little magazine that was in my room and shredded it into hundreds of pieces. What a sight I found when I came into my room. After she shredded it into those tiny pieces she must have flung them all around just to see what would happen. It looked like it was a lot of fun for her. After weeks of going potty outside and no accidents, she decided to test us to see if we were really paying attention to where she went and she hopped up on Megan's bed and peed all over it. Poor Megan. So Zoey is just full of surprises this week!

Our "Vacation" home

Todd told me he built me a vacation home...with mountain and strip views. It is a platform in our tree out back. Twenty three feet off the ground. You have to climb a rope ladder wearing a harness and clipping in every few steps up the ladder. It looks pretty strenuous. I have observed the children making the climb up and down a few times so far. I hope to attempt to climb up by this weekend. Todd spent probably 100 hours building and maybe 700 dollars or so in the supplies. So...yeah...it will probably be the only vacation home I own. We can send supplies up and down in a bucket tied to a rope. I sent Aaron's dinner up there last night. It is pretty amazing and Todd is very proud of it.

Ariel's birthday

Ariel turned 17 September 11, 2008. Here are some pictures of her birthday fun. The real thoughtful photo where she is holding the world with the peace sign was saved as the "biggest and best" present for her to open last. I had asked her for days what she wanted for her birthday finally she said..."World Peace"...there! So I gave it my best shot at giving her world peace...
Ok so sorry these pictures are really large...someone who knows about blogging and such should tell me how to manage the size of my photos. Thanks.
I guess since I have a blog now...this is the first day of the rest of my life. That sounded so dramatic! I guess this is the first day of the rest of my life that can be viewed by people everywhere on their computer.
