Trunk or Treat

Tonight was Trunk or Treat...my favorite holiday! (that was typed with extreme sarcasm)Aaron and his friend Zack have been planning to be twin "jokers" ever since the movie came out. They planned this years Halloween night on November 1st last year. So as you can imagine...they have been looking forward to Halloween night for a long time. I told them they have to keep their joker faces on until Friday, I don't know if that is going to work or not. My guess is I will have to paint them all over again...

Halloween is coming....

We had a fun week! Here are a few photos of our Halloween party for Young Womens this week. Ariel went as a "hippy" (she's all about world peace!) Megan went "confused" and I was suppose to be a 50's girl along with the rest of the YW presidency. I am not "in" to Halloween so I had jeans and an argyle sweater on. The girls said I looked "lame" and said they were dressing me up. So when they were done...I felt more like a "jungle skank" then I did a 50's girl. Oh well.

On Thursday we had some good friends from Logan come to visit, John and Jennifer Bailey. They took us to dinner it was so great to see them. Aaron got to play a couple songs on the drums for them. He is trying to overcome his performance shyness. We even got to hear a tiny moment on the drums from John. :)

Friday wasn't so good. I pulled a muscle in my back and then had to spend the rest of the weekend in bed. Sometimes....that happens to people.

Well...It is over!!

It is done! I have finally given up the last of my living room for the sake of music. Over the years, I have fought to keep my living room in tact, but the final couch was moved out today and the drum set was moved in. This means a drastic change in my way of life. I am now co-existing with a drum set in my midst...with no walls or doors for protection. I don't know how I feel about this yet, as much as I love the drums... love to listen to them and wish I played them myself. The boys have their wish they have a music room now...too bad for me it just happens to be missing the walls and door.
Now as far as the girls go...let the torture begin...
(I am afraid they deserve it.)

Jennifer's Vegas Fun (she couldn't stop smiling!)

Homecoming Week

Ariel and Megan are both in Student Council so they were very busy this week with building floats, decorating the school, painting signs, the homecoming parade, etc. etc. etc. Here are a few pictures of the week. The theme was "All You Need is Love"

The highlight of my week is that my sister Jennifer flew in from Bozeman to visit Thursday through Sunday. We had so much fun shopping, eating out every meal we could (and not telling the kids about it), and just laughing a lot. Unfortunately her plane was delayed two hours on Sunday and she had to go home to a giant snow storm. She was a good sport and on Friday went to the homecoming assembly on the football field, the homecoming parade and the homecoming football game.

The football game was a little difficult for both Jen and I. I had promised Aaron weeks ago that I would take him to the game. It was almost half time and Jen and I were growing weary of the high school football scene. Aaron didn't seem to be that interested in the game. After prodding him a little about why he wasn't watching the game and how he didn't seem that interested in it...he confessed that he wanted to come to the game to get a spirit towel and some nachos. Oh!! Well I wish I would have known that a little sooner! I had bought the spirit towel when we walked through the gate...so we just needed the nachos and we were outta there. By the time we made our way to the conscession stand...it was already half time and the line was very long. I said, "Hey...let's go get nachos at 7-11...they have the same kind of nachos there." He said o.k. but as we drove out of the school parking lot past the Dairy Queen he decided that a blizzard would be just as good as nachos.

What did I learn from this experience? If your 10 year old insists on you taking him to a H.S. football game...ask some questions...find out the "whys"... just a thought.

Ariel's Treehouse Adventure

After several weeks of "begging" Todd got Ariel to agree to climb to the top of the treehouse. It was night and we stood out there for about a half hour watching and encouraging her. After she got half way up...it was very slow going. She would climb up a step on the ladder, then come down two. She was very scared and I finally had to tell her I would give her ten dollars to get her to the top. Here are some pictures of her at the top. She was still a little well....you know.

Zoey and some flowers...

Just a few quick photos of Zoey in the flowers. Megan took these and I thought they were so cute.

Some big boys with some big tools

My parents are remodeling their kitchen. This was the night we came back from Logan at 11:30 p.m. and these two guys were still there working. They were nice enough to pose for a few photos before going home to sleep

The "underground" house

After some diligent searching...it had been over 20 years since Todd had been to this place, we finally found the underground house. He fully expected it to be gone and was amazed that it was still standing. He spent 6 months living in this house as a missionary in Logan.

A few more photos of my reunion...

20 Year Class Reunion! I know...I know...it seems impossible!

Todd and I just got back from Cache Valley (Logan) for my 20 year class reunion from Mountain Crest High School. We had the best time! We left the kids home alone for four days and they didn't kill each other or have any parties. (Well that we are aware of) They told us when we got home that they get along better when we are gone. So we are going to try to leave them more often.

I got to see so many friends that I hadn't seen since graduation. My friend Wendy and I had such a great time together (our husbands were very patient with our never ending supply of"stories", remember whens...and uncontrollable laughter)

It was great to drive around to my former homes in River Heights and places I worked. Todd even found the underground house he lived in as a missionary in Logan.

It was so worth the effort to go. I now own a Mt. Crest T-shirt which I bought at the football game-that makes me smile.
