I was in Utah for a few days after girls camp to check on my dad and see how things were going. He wasn't feeling that well that Sunday and didn't know if he could make it to church. He had been having a lot of seizures this past week. He felt bad he wouldn't get to go to church, he loves going. We told him that we would have our own testimony meeting at the house that night and invited all the kids to come. Jennifer and I were both in town so just Debra and Lara were missing that night. Some of the grandkids had asked my dad what his favorite songs were and he had picked out three songs for us to sing. Stephen called us earlier that day and told us that they were going to bless their new baby, Tyler Mark, at the house after our family meeting. We started the meeting with a song and then shared a wonderful time together over the next hour. Towards the end of our time together and without notice, my dad went into a seizure...it was very upsetting. There was nothing we could do but wait for it to end. We felt helpless but a few seconds into it, we all started quietly singing one of his other favorite songs, "Come, Come Ye Saints and sang it until the seizure was over. My dad was able to help bless Tyler, that was a very special experience. Even though it is heartbreaking to watch my dad suffer through this illness, the Lord is mindful of our family and blessing us.

That was pretty remarkable that Mark was still able to help bless Tyler after his seizure. Thanks for the sweet reminder - I think we made a good decision not to wait until we could do it in our ward.
If your here this Sunday, Mikey would love you to come to his Primary Program!
