Christmas Eve

Cooking for Christmas Eve dinner is basically as time consuming as cooking for Thanksgiving dinner. I like to stick to my traditional menu and the food was delicious, but I was exhausted when we sat down to eat. My favorites are the orange rolls, wassail, stuffing and rice pudding. Megan found the almond in the pudding this year, she seems to find it more frequently than anyone else. She is a lucky girl!
Todd kept entertained with the napkin rings

After we ate, Todd built a Christmas Eve fire. We've never had a Christmas Eve fire before.
Aaron's cousin gift was from Lily, she spent the last six months in Australia with her family. He got an awesome Australian boomerang! It looks too pretty to throw it, but we will probably have to give it a try.

New PJ's...well except Ariel's. She really loved the kind Megan got, so I told her to wear some of my old PJ's instead and we'd exchange hers after Christmas. She picked out the smallest pair, which was the cheetah ones. She wasn't thrilled to be wearing them, but she looked so cute in them.
Aaron took over the reading of "The Polar Express" because for some reason, that book is the funniest book in the world to the girls. Every time they tried to take a turn reading, they would laugh hysterically.

We played a new game that we got from the Freebairn family drawing called "Word on the Street." I don't know what it is about that game, but let's just say, it has a tendency to cause a little contention. So our wonderful evening ended with mom a little upset and slightly frustrated.

Aaron looks great with those glasses - so mature! And what a dinner - thank heavens I don't live far away from family and have to prepare something like that on my own!
